On February 18, 2026, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice dismissed the proposed class action Stewart v. Mazda Canada Inc. pursuant to section 29.1(1) of the Class Proceedings Act, 1992. The Court found that the proceeding had not advanced for many years and no longer met the statutory requirements to remain active.
The Court also directed class counsel to publish a notice of the dismissal, along with a copy of the Order, so that any interested individuals may be informed.
